I have started applying for a job on the first week, got one phone call, more than five reject emails in the second week, I didn't apply for any job in the second week and thi

this is about the third week. This week I was trying to fix out what is the weakness in my job seeking.

I made 4 big mistakes this week.

First is on Tuesday evening, I attended TD event, I got a chance to talk with a senior manager in the cyber filed. I told him I am a cybersecurity analyst focus on network security, vulnerability assessment, then he directly asked me a technic question about vulnerability assessment, he asked me: how to analyze scan results(how to range the thousands of vulnerability how to find out which is the priority). But I didn't get a proper answer. I know this is my technical knowledge gap, in the past three months, I only focus on language learning and soft skill improvement. I have Qualys Vulnerability Management Certification. But I didn't pay attention to that critical knowledge.

Second, I got names of TD bank senior manager, I was trying to connect with them through LinkedIn, I wrote down a hello message sample, copy it then set it to people, one of the people I sent the wrong name for greening. That's terrible.

Third, I attended WOASP event on Wednesday evening with my friend, My friend asked me to pick him up but I didn't arrive on time, let makes us didn't show up on time.

The last one is the worst one, I got a coffee meeting with one of the expert cyber recruiter at 9:30, I didn't check the right time with him, he waited for me at 9:30 am for a while, I could picture how stupid I am. I should confirm the exact time and location.

4 big mistakes this week,
1 knowledge gap
2 set hello message with the wrong name
2 show up late
3 didn't double-check the right appointment time

Got a lesson, please never make it happen again.
